I've almost finished my Nymphéa project! I still have the fish variations to clean and 2 pages of story board.
Here's a simple but funny turnaround I've just finished. This little fish looks so retarded! loool
I didn't want him to look evil. Because he's supposed to purchase the little nymph.

edit: Sorry, this project won't be animated. Because we dont have the time and the knowledge for that in our school. I'll animate a project next year :)
This one is just a graphic exercise :)

Voila j'ai presque fini mon projet sur Nymphéa. Je suis plutôt fière de moi parceque je suis supposée avoir encore 15 jours. Mais il fait tellement beau depuis 2 jours que j'espère pouvoir sortir si le temps se maintient et si je tiens le rythme!

Voila le turnaround de cet abruti de poisson! Je me suis vraiment amusée à le faire, même si ça reste relativement simple, je sais :D

Il me reste à finir les variations du poisson, et 2 pages de story. Yeah! On y croit!!!

I think you can say 'he', especially if it talks... Btw, I love the frontal shot :XD:
:iconmunineye:
Yes, you can use "he" and "him" for a fish. English speakers often assign arbitrary gender to things anyway, based on the sort of look the animal has. For instance, in real life, I would probably call this fish a "she" because of the floaty fins. Whereas I would call most shorthair dogs "he" because they look masculine. This doesn't mean you should change the character's look, it just means that some people might think it's a she if a gender isn't clearly stated.

Ok! thanks for these explanations! it's clearer for me now! It's just that at school, we teach us to sa he for a dog, she for a cat (for me a cat is more masculine, because in france, a cat is masculine, like the dog). For other animal they say it's it...
Your explanation is easier :)

Yes, if the fish (or animal) has a name (that's masculine or feminine), you can use he or she. I always call my dog "she" because she's a female dog (obviously). I think English speakers rarely, if ever, call an animal 'it.' If we don't know the gender, we automatically say "he" for some bizarre reason.

I have the hardest time in French trying not to say 'elle' because it should use the pronoun 'il' since dog is male. I always say, "Voilà mon chien, Zena. Elle est comique et un peu méchante avec ses jouets."

The head on view of the fish is really cute (and funny).Of course, I think the head on view of any fish is really funny because their faces are so squished. I love his coloring.
