I bet you are always the center of attention when you appear in those dresses! Do many people take pictures with their smartphones? Do you mind?
When I went to Opera Garnier, two Japenes women showed themselves proudly dressed up in kimonos and traditional hair-do. Now I ponder if I am brave enough to perhaps visit the Takarazuka theater in Dirndl next year.
Yes but we are like 15/20 persons to be dressed like this, so it looks more "normal", I mean nobody thinks you're just crazy, they figure out that there's something particular, kind of event. And yes, they took many pics. Which was not a good thing for us somehow, even if we were honoured of course! At Garnier for the ballet you have 15 min at the entr'act, and 5 minutes to leave when it's finished. So when someone wants to take many photos with you, you loose time to take yourself alone XD
They already had sewing machine for this era This dress is 1880 and sewing machines appeared in 1830. But I've already sewn some dresses entirely by hand too And there's a lot of work done by hand on this dress too
whoooah. incredible. you are exceptionally talented! what I wouldn't do for a dress like that.... may I ask a question? Could I use this dress as a reference for an illustration at some point, if I credited you and linked back to this photo? it would just be for fun, not for profit. let me know.
