Tutorial - How to shade - How to color hair by Katikut Tutorial - How to shade - How to color hair by Katikut
I've received several notes and comments about my shading method (wich is the same for lights). Here"s a video tutorial explaining my method.

Sorry about the mistakes, please click the link below to go on my livestream channel and see the video :)

It works with a lot of Photoshops;.. CS, CS2, .... CS5... :)

I discover how to do a couple of things like you do a few days ago by myself, so watching how to do it like that was great! :D Thanks for the vid :aww:

When I try this, my line art disapears o_O;
Am I doing something wrong?
My line art is the top layer, my colouring layer is underneath it and blank.
I hold Alt and click in between the two layers.

The line as to be underneath, and the color layer on the top. :)

Every layer that you'll put on the top pile with ALT will appear only if there's something on the main layer (at the bottom). It's normal that everything disappears if you have nothing on the main layer. :)

I watched your live stream again, brilliant artwork-
though I am starting to think that the 'alt' method is for just for shading.
Thanks a bunch!

Merci pour ce tutoriel ! L'astuce du almt+click va me faire gagner beaucoup de temps ^^ (j'ai aussi appris l'option tous les calques pour le pot de peinture)
J'ai beaucoup aimé la légèreté de ce tutoriel (Want to know my method for hair ?

Thank you very much for this tutorial! :D I seriously have problems putting color on my drawings, because it takes so much time for me to do. I easily get bored of it! :o So I allways end up leaving it as a lineart, or even just a sketch. But this tutorial seems to make coloring very fast and easy :) I hope that you will keep this tutorial up for easy access for some time so that I can get back and watch it again if I forget how to do it :)

I would love it if you could upload this to youtube. Every five seconds, the Ad pops up and blocks the lower fifth of your screen, even when I "X" out of the ad. :(

Really? O_o Annoying ! The thing is that it's really easy to record what's on your screen with livestream while it's hard to find a free HD software that allows you to record and put a video on youtube :(

Okay, so, when I go to the the "alt" click on the layer, to put the arrow on it, it won't do it. :( and the lines are the top layer too. I don't understand...

You have to alt+click beteween the layers, not on the layer :)

This is the best tutorial! It helps me so much! :) Now I don't have to waste time erasing around the lines, haha. And I'll have to try that type of shading, since I always do semi-realistic. ^-^
